Vitamin B3 (Niacin)
Is an essential human nutrient. Insufficient Niacin in the diet can cause nausea, skin and mouth lesions, anemia, headaches, and tiredness.
Chronic Niacin deficiency leads to a disease called Pellagra. The lack of Niacin may also be observed in pandemic deficiency disease which is caused by a lack of five crucial Vitamins: Niacin, Vitamin C, Thiamin, Vitamin D, and Vitamin A, and is usually found in areas of widespread poverty and malnutrition.
Niacin has been used for over 50 years to increase levels of HDL (good cholesterol) in the blood and has been found to decrease the risk of cardiovascular events.

Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid)
Is required to synthesize coenzyme-A (CoA), as well as to synthesize and metabolize proteins, carbohydrates, and fats.
Symptoms of deficiency are similar to other Vitamin B5 deficiencies. There is impaired energy production, due to low CoA levels, which could cause symptoms of irritability, fatigue, and apathy.
Acetylcholine synthesis is also impaired, therefore, neurological symptoms can also appear in deficiency - they include numbness, paresthesia, and muscle cramps.

Deficiency in Pantothenic Acid can also cause Hypoglycemia, or an increased sensitivity to Insulin. Insulin receptors are acylated with Palmitic Acid when they do not want to bind with Insulin. Therefore, more Insulin will bind to receptors when acylation decreases, causing Hypoglycemia. Additional symptoms could include restlessness, malaise, sleep disturbances, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal cramps.

In a few rare circumstances, more serious (but reversible) conditions have been seen, such as Adrenal Insufficiency and Hepatic Encephalopathy.

One study noted reports of painful burning sensations of the feet.
Other deficiency symptoms include disorders of the nervous, gastrointestinal, and immune systems, reduced growth rate, decreased food intake, skin lesions and changes in hair coat, and alterations in lipid and carbohydrate metabolism.

Vitamin B12
Has key role in the normal functioning of the brain and nervous system, and for the formation of blood. It is normally involved in the metabolism of every cell of the human body, especially affecting DNA synthesis and regulation, but also fatty acid metabolism and amino acid metabolism.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can potentially cause severe and irreversible damage, especially to the brain and nervous system. At levels only slightly lower than normal, a range of symptoms such as fatigue, depression, and poor memory may be experienced.
Vitamin B12 deficiency can also cause symptoms of mania and psychosis.

Vitamin C
Helps to support the body's immune system. It is necessary to maintain healthy bones, teeth, cartilage, gums and skin as it contributes to the formation of collagen.
Vitamin C is also necessary for keeping blood vessels healthy and for normal mental function as it helps the nervous system to work. It also helps to maintain energy and general vitality.
Vitamin C is an antioxidant that contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

Vitamin D
Is important for good overall health and strong and healthy bones. It?s also an important factor in making sure your muscles, heart, lungs and brain work well and that your body can fight infection.

Vitamin E
Has many biological functions, the antioxidant function being the most important and best known.
Other functions include enzymatic activities, gene expression, and neurological functions. The most important function of Vitamin E has been suggested to be in cell signaling.
As an antioxidant, Vitamin E is fat-soluble, it is incorporated into cell membranes, which protects them from oxidative damage.
As an enzymatic activity regulator, for instance, plays a role in smooth muscle growth.
Vitamin E also has an effect on the repair of wounds and regeneration of the extracellular tissue lost or damaged during atherosclerosis.
Vitamin E also plays a role in neurological functions, and inhibition of platelet aggregation.
Vitamin E also protects lipids and prevents the oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids.

Vitamin K
The deficiency can result in coagulopathy, a bleeding disorder. Symptoms of Vitamin K deficiency include anemia, bruising, and bleeding of the gums or nose in both sexes, and heavy menstrual bleeding in women.
Osteoporosis and coronary heart disease are strongly associated with lower levels of Vitamin K.
Vitamin K deficiency is also related to severe aortic calcification and all-cause mortality.

Vitamin B9 (Folic Acid)
Is essential for numerous bodily functions. Humans cannot synthesize folates, therefore, folate (Folic Acid) has to be supplied through the diet to meet their daily requirements.
The human body needs folate to synthesize DNA, repair DNA, and methylate DNA as well as to act as a cofactor in certain biological reactions. It is especially important in aiding rapid cell division and growth, such as in infancy and pregnancy.
Children and adults both require folate to produce healthy red blood cells and prevent anemia.
The deficiency of Folic Acid can result in many health problems, the most notable one being neural tube defects in developing embryos.
Common symptoms of folate deficiency include diarrhea, macrocytic anemia with weakness or shortness of breath, nerve damage with weakness and limb numbness (peripheral neuropathy), pregnancy complications, mental confusion, forgetfulness or other cognitive deficits, mental depression, sore or swollen tongue, peptic or mouth ulcers, headaches, heart palpitations, irritability, and behavioral disorders.
Low levels of folate can also lead to homocysteine accumulation.
Low levels of folate have been associated with specific cancers.

Biotin
The body needs Biotin to metabolize carbohydrates, fats, and amino acids, the building blocks of protein.
Biotin is often recommended for strengthening hair and nails and it's found in many cosmetic products for hair and skin. Symptoms of deficiency in Biotin include hair loss, dry scaly skin, cracking in the corners of the mouth (called cheilitis), swollen and painful tongue that is magenta in color (glossitis), dry eyes, loss of appetite, fatigue, insomnia, and depression.

Zinc
The deficiency is usually due to insufficient dietary intake, but can be associated with malabsorption, acrodermatitis enteropathica, chronic liver disease, chronic renal disease, sickle cell disease, diabetes, malignancy, and other chronic illnesses.
Clinical outcomes include depressed growth, diarrhea, impotence and delayed sexual maturation, alopecia, eye and skin lesions, impaired appetite, altered cognition, impaired host defense properties, defects in carbohydrate utilization, and reproductive teratogenesis.

Echinacea
Is a wide-spectrum immunomodulator that modulates both innate and adaptive immune responses, helping support immune system health.
Echinacea is widely used to fight infections, especially the common cold and other upper respiratory infections.
Echinacea is also used against many other infections including the flu, urinary tract infections, vaginal yeast infections, genital herpes, bloodstream infections (septicemia), gum disease, tonsillitis, streptococcus infections, syphilis, typhoid, malaria, and diphtheria.
Other uses include chronic fatigue syndrome, rheumatism, migraines, acid indigestion, pain, dizziness, and attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder.
